The Dubai Police called on motorists to adhere to traffic laws and regulations and to avoid random parking in front of mosques, especially during Tarawih and Tahajjud prayers in the last ten days of the Holy Month of Ramadan, to maintain smooth traffic flow and avoid congestion which could impede vehicle movement and affect the safety of worshippers and passersby.
Brigadier Juma Salem Bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic, affirmed that Dubai Police have intensified their traffic patrols near mosques to regulate traffic and monitor violating vehicles.
He stressed the importance of adhering to traffic laws and not obstructing public roads or residential neighbourhood entrances, as random parking can block lanes for emergency and ambulance vehicles and cause accidents and injuries, endangering the lives of others.
He urged mosque-goers to choose safe places for Tarawih and Tahajjud prayers in the last ten days of the Holy Month, and not to pray in the streets surrounding mosques, so as not to expose themselves to danger or run-over accidents by vehicles using those streets.
It is essential to cooperate and adhere to the instructions of traffic police men to ensure prayers are performed in a safe and comfortable environment for everyone, Brigadier Bin Suwaidan stressed. He explained that Dubai Police will take necessary measures against violators in accordance with applicable traffic laws, emphasising their commitment to providing comfort for road users during this Holy Month.
