Technological advancements and the innovations they have introduced, particularly in the field of communication, have played a crucial role in bridging distances and bringing people closer together.
However, despite the substantial progress they offer, these technologies can become detrimental if misused, as anything taken beyond its intended purpose often ends up causing harm.
An Arab woman would often visit her neighbour in their residential building, always coordinating in advance to confirm her visits. On one occasion, after receiving an invitation from her neighbour, she called again to reconfirm her attendance.
However, her repeated calls for confirmation were seen as excessive, which eventually prompted her neighbour to file a lawsuit against her.
The Sharjah Misdemeanor Court addressed the case of the accused, F.N., who faced charges of misusing the telephone service to harass her neighbor, the victim.
The accused, however, denied the allegations, claiming that her neighbour had invited her over. She stated that she accepted the invitation and went to the apartment, but when no one responded after the door was opened, she made multiple calls. As a result, the court decided to adjourn the session to issue a verdict.
