A young Arab man identified as SA used to sit and stay up late with bad companions until on an ordinary night, he shared an electronic shisha with them but the content of the shisha was different this time and caused him to feel unwell and ended him up in the courthouse.
Sharjah Misdemeanor Court heard the case of a young Arab man who tested positive for psychoactive substances after reviewing the forensic laboratory report, which proved he abused them.
Faced with the charges levelled to him, the accused denied intentionally abusing psychoactive substances, pleading that he took the substances unintentionally and without his knowledge while sitting with his friends and smoking an electronic shisha.
The accused stated that after spending the day with his friends, he returned home exhausted and showing abnormal health signs, adding that this prompted his father to take him to the hospital.
After he was examined, it was necessary for him to be transferred to the Anti-Narcotics Department, which requested that a sample be taken for test at the forensic laboratory. The results of the test showed proof of drug abuse.
After reviewing all the case documents, the court ordered the session to be postponed for the final ruling.
