Ahmad Al Falasi, winner of the Arab Hope Makers 2020 Award and founder of the Ahmed Al Falasi Foundation for Humanitarian Initiatives, announced the distribution of 230 food baskets on families of over 15 members on the impoverished island of Ngao in Tanzania.
He also announced the distribution of 150 kg of dates and 400 copies of the Holy Quran to the island’s mosque, school and clinic, marking Zayed Humanitarian Work Day.
Al Falasi stated that the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may Allah have mercy on him, established a humanitarian approach for extending a helping hand to people wherever they were until the UAE became a model in humanitarian and development work, embodying the values of mercy, tolerance and shared responsibility.
“Marking this national occasion, we recall the immortal humanitarian legacy of Sheikh Zayed, who launched an approach that made giving and serving humanity a firmly established value in the UAE, where humanitarian work was not just a moral duty, but an authentic leadership vision that believed that serving humanity was the highest form of national responsibility,” he said.
