UAE's top retailer, Lulu Group, has taken proactive measures to ensure a steady supply of food products to the UAE by arranging dedicated cargo flights from India and other key global markets.
A recent shipment carried by an Etihad Airways freighter delivered nearly 80,000 kilogrammes of fresh fruits and vegetables — around 12,000 parcels — from India to Abu Dhabi.
Additional cargo flights are planned in the coming days to support the maintenance of sufficient stock across the group’s stores nationwide.
Previously, Lulu transported approximately 80 tonnes of meat from New Delhi, with further shipments planned from Mumbai, Bengaluru, and other international sourcing hubs such as Melbourne. These efforts are helping secure large volumes of fast-moving consumer goods, ensuring a reliable supply of fresh produce for customers.
Yousuf Ali Musliam, Chairman of the Group, highlighted that their primary focus is to ensure families throughout the UAE can access fresh food and essential products without concerns. He underscored the strength of the Group's global supply and logistics network, which secures a steady supply and maintains price stability.
In the coming days, additional cargo flights carrying food products are anticipated, as retailers work to reinforce stock levels across their stores in the UAE.
