UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Tuesday received a phone call from Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine, to discuss the military escalation in the region and its serious implications for regional security and stability.
Zelenskyy expressed Ukraine’s condemnation of the blatant Iranian attacks targeting the UAE and other countries in the region, stressing that they constitute a violation of state sovereignty, international law, and the UN Charter.
Sheikh Mohamed thanked Zelensky for Ukraine’s solidarity with the UAE.
Both sides underscored the need to halt the military escalation and avoid widening the conflict, given the serious consequences it may pose for regional and global security and stability.
AUSTRALIAN PM: Sheikh Mohamed also received a phone call from Anthony Albanese, Prime Minister of Australia, to discuss recent regional developments and their serious implications for security and stability.
Albanese affirmed Australia’s solidarity with the UAE in light of the blatant Iranian attacks targeting its sovereignty, security, territorial integrity, and the safety of its people.
Sheikh Mohamed thanked Prime Minister Albanese for Australia’s supportive stance towards the UAE.
CANADIAN PM: Sheikh Mohamed received a phone call from Mark Carney, Prime Minister of Canada, during which they discussed the serious escalation unfolding in the region and its implications for regional security and stability.
During the call, the Canadian Prime Minister reaffirmed his country’s solidarity with the UAE following the blatant Iranian attacks on its territory and on a number of other countries in the region. He expressed Canada’s condemnation of the attacks, noting that they constitute a flagrant violation of state sovereignty and the principles of international law and undermine regional and international security and stability.
Sheikh Mohamed thanked the Canadian Prime Minister for Canada’s supportive stance towards the UAE.
AUSTRIA CHANCELLOR: Sheikh Mohamed also received a phone call from Christian Stocker, Federal Chancellor of the Republic of Austria, to discuss the serious military escalation in the region and its implications for security and stability.
Stocker expressed Austria’s condemnation of the blatant Iranian attacks targeting the UAE and other countries in the region, stressing that they constitute a violation of international law and the UN Charter while posing a threat to regional stability.
He also noted that Austria had summoned the Iranian ambassador and strongly denounced the attacks.
