UAE President receives phone calls from Grand Imam of Al Azhar, Lankan and Latvian leaders condemning Iranian attacks

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Wednesday received a phone call from Dr Ahmed Al Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al Azhar, who expressed his condemnation of the blatant Iranian attacks targeting the territory of the UAE and a number of other countries, stressing that such acts constitute a violation of state sovereignty, international law, and the principles of good neighbourliness.
Sheikh Mohamed thanked Dr Ahmed for his position.
During the call, both sides underscored the need for restraint and an immediate halt to the military escalation. They emphasised the importance of dialogue and diplomacy to address issues and prevent any further deterioration in regional security and stability.
SRI LANKAN PRESIDENT: Earlier, Sheikh Mohamed received a phone call from Anura Kumara Dissanayake, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, who condemned the blatant Iranian attacks targeting the UAE and a number of Arab countries and affirmed Sri Lanka's solidarity with the UAE in the measures it is taking to safeguard its sovereignty, security, territorial integrity, and the safety of its people.

Sheikh Mohamed thanked Dissanayake for Sri Lanka's supportive stance towards the UAE.
Both sides stressed the need for an immediate halt to military escalation to prevent the widening of the conflict and address its serious implications for regional and global security.
LATVIAN PM: Sheikh Mohamed also received a phone call from Evika Siliņa, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, who condemned the blatant Iranian attacks targeting the UAE and other countries in the region.
Siliņa affirmed Latvia’s solidarity with the UAE in light of the attacks, which constitute a serious violation of its sovereignty and a direct threat to regional security and stability.

Sheikh Mohamed thanked Siliņa for Latvia’s supportive stance towards the UAE.
Both sides stressed the need for an immediate halt to military actions and a return to the political track and diplomatic solutions to prevent further escalation that threatens regional and global security.
