Dubai Police, represented by Hatta Police Station, have launched a series of field awareness initiatives targeting delivery motorcycle riders as part of the traffic safety campaign “Your Lives Matter, Your Safety Is Our Goal.”
The initiative aims to enhance traffic awareness and promote adherence to road regulations, supporting Dubai Police’s strategic vision of a “Safe City.”
The event was attended by Colonel Ali Obaid Al Bedwawi, Deputy Director of Hatta Police Station, and Major Ghadeer Mohammed Al Khalidi, Head of the Traffic Registration Section, along with a number of delivery riders.
Colonel Al Bedwawi reaffirmed Dubai Police’s commitment to intensifying traffic awareness efforts for all road users — especially delivery riders, whose work requires them to spend long hours on the road.
He noted that such awareness campaigns play a key role in reducing accident rates and contribute directly to achieving national indicators aimed at lowering traffic-related fatalities and injuries.
Colonel Al Bedwawi indicated that the sessions addressed several critical topics, including common causes of accidents such as distracted driving, penalties for speeding, and frequent violations like weaving between vehicles, riding in groups and causing disruption to motorists, sudden swerving, and abrupt lane changes — particularly on internal roads.
At the end of the event, Colonel Al Bedwawi stressed the importance of sustained awareness campaigns and the vital role of partnerships with delivery companies in achieving traffic safety goals.
He reiterated that Dubai Police remains committed to making roads safer and more sustainable, in line with its strategic vision and the highest international safety standards.
Recently, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), in collaboration with Dubai Police, successfully concluded a major awareness campaign that reached 9,200 workers across five key areas in Dubai.
The initiative aimed to strengthen workers’ understanding of their rights, enhance legal and digital awareness, and protect them from exploitation and fraud, recognising their vital role in the UAE’s sustainable development journey.
