The UAE's Public Prosecution has issued a warning against the dissemination or sharing of rumors, false information, or news from unverified sources on social media or any digital platform. Such actions can create confusion and pose risks to public safety and stability.
They stressed the need to rely solely on official and verified sources for information, urging the public not to be influenced by unconfirmed reports.
Through a statement shared on the "X" platform, the Public Prosecution said that anyone distributing or reposting content from unknown sources may face legal consequences under the country's applicable laws, even if they did not create the content.
The statement concluded with a reminder: information is a responsibility, and the act of spreading rumors constitutes a crime.
