UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Saturday received a phone call from Shahbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, during which they discussed the ongoing military escalation in the region and its serious implications for regional security and stability.

During the call, the Pakistani Prime Minister reaffirmed his country’s condemnation of the blatant Iranian attacks on the territory of the UAE and a number of other countries, noting that such actions constitute a violation of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.

Both leaders stressed that the region is at a critical juncture requiring wisdom and a commitment to dialogue and diplomacy in order to prevent further escalation that could undermine regional security and stability.

Taking to X, Shahbaz said he had conveyed Pakistan’s “strong condemnation of the dangerous regional escalation following the Israeli attack on Iran and the regrettable strikes against the UAE and other Gulf countries.”

He also expressed his “deep sorrow over the tragic loss of a Pakistani national in Abu Dhabi” and reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the UAE.

He assured the UAE leadership of Pakistan’s solidarity and support in the current crisis and said that Pakistan would always stand with its Emirati brothers and sisters, consistent with the close fraternal bonds between both countries, that had withstood the test of times

PM calls Amir of Qatar, condemns ‘serious regional escalation’

Shahbaz also held a telephone conversation with Emier of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani.

During the telephone call, the Prime Minister strongly condemned the serious regional escalation from the Israeli attack on Iran earlier on Saturday, that was followed by the regrettable attacks against Qatar as well as in other Gulf countries.

While referring to their recent meeting in Doha, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s full solidarity and support with the brotherly State of Qatar amid the current crisis and assured the Amir that Pakistan would always stand shoulder to shoulder with the brotherly people of Qatar and play a positive role for ensuring peace and stability in the region.
