The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre) revealed that the percentage of workers registered in the "Unemployment Insurance" system reached 90% of the total targeted workforce by the end of 2025, while the value of compensation received by workers who lost their jobs exceeded Dhs350 million since the system came into effect at the beginning of 2024 until the end of 2025.
Mohre reviewed pioneering achievements and outstanding results achieved by the social protection system for workers in the labour market, protecting their financial entitlements and raising their awareness during 2025, affirming that the positive results recorded in 2025 reflect the Ministry's commitment to enhancing a safe, stable, and sustainable work environment that achieves quality of life and well-being for workers and protects their rights in a balanced manner with the rights of employers, thereby supporting efforts to achieve national directives and the "We the UAE 2031" vision.
The successes achieved in 2025 confirm the effectiveness of the comprehensive strategy implemented by the Ministry in the labour market in light of applying a sustainable methodology of partnership with federal and local government entities and the private sector, which supports the application of legislation and enhances compliance with it, as well as the optimal implementation of initiatives and programmes aimed at consolidating the UAE's position as a leading model in protecting workers' rights, Mohre added, clarifying that the awareness programmes provided in 17 languages, 100% of the targeted workers completed mandatory guidance programmes by the end of 2025, while the number of beneficiaries of specialised awareness programmes during 2025 exceeded 3 million workers.
