The Department of Islamic Affairs in Sharjah announced the approval of approximately 400 Iftar locations across various cities and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah, after reviewing submitted applications and issuing the necessary permits according to precise controls and standards.
The Iftar locations are distributed in easily accessible areas, including mosque surroundings, squares, and vital areas with high population density, ensuring that Iftar meals reach the largest possible segment of beneficiaries.
The Department affirmed that the selection of Iftar locations is coordinated with the relevant authorities and based on criteria which consider the actual needs of the areas, in addition to ensuring a safe and suitable environment and adhering to the highest food safety standards, through the use of specialised tools and containers which guarantee the quality and safety of meals during transport and distribution.
The Iftar tents embody a bright image of community cohesion, where fasters of different nationalities and cultures gather at common tables, in a humanitarian scene which reflects the meanings of mercy and generosity.
Organising these locations comes within a series of Ramadan initiatives and programmes implemented by the Department in cooperation with charitable institutions and philanthropists, aiming to consolidate the culture of giving, enhance the spirit of social responsibility, and contribute to spreading an atmosphere of familiarity and love during the Holy Month of Ramadan, thereby reinforcing the leading role of the Emirate of Sharjah in supporting charitable work and social solidarity.
