Emirates Airlines has announced further cancellations of its flights to the United States due to the anticipated significant impact of an approaching snowstorm "Nor'easter" affecting New York, Newark, and Boston regions. This update was shared by the airline through its official website.
Cancelled flights
The carrier reported the cancellation of more flights on February 22 and 23, impacting routes between Dubai and both New York (JFK) and Boston (BOS), as well as connections from Athens and Milan to New York and Newark (EWR). Additionally, certain flights planned for February 24 were also affected.
The cancellations affected several round-trip flights, including EK203 (February 22 and 23) from Dubai to New York, EK204 (February 23 and 24) from New York to Dubai, EK201 and EK202 (February 23) between Dubai and New York, EK237 and EK238 (February 23) between Dubai and Boston, EK209 and EK210 (February 22 and 23) between Athens and Newark, as well as EK205 and EK206 (February 23) between Milan and New York.
These measures came after the airline's earlier announcement regarding multiple flight cancellations caused by severe weather conditions on the US East Coast. The decision was taken as a precaution to prioritize the safety of passengers and crew members.
Emirates announced that passengers scheduled to travel to New York, Newark, or Boston on the canceled flights will not be allowed to commence their journeys from their departure locations.
The airline has encouraged affected customers to reach out to their travel agents for rebooking or to contact Emirates directly if reservations were made through its website or offices.
The airline stressed the importance of keeping contact details updated through its Manage Booking service to stay informed about the latest updates. Emirates assured that it is closely tracking weather developments and extended apologies for any inconvenience resulting from these alterations.
