The Department of Islamic Affairs in Sharjah has announced the inauguration of five new mosques, three located in the city of Sharjah and two in the Central Region, offering space for over 2,200 worshippers.
This initiative is part of a broader plan to open 17 mosques from the start of this year up to the conclusion of the Holy month.
The effort aligns with the needs arising from urban expansion and population growth, aiming to create a comprehensive spiritual environment for worshippers while reinforcing the mosque's role as a hub for religious and social life within the communities of the emirate.
The mosques' inauguration was attended by Counselor Dr Issa Saif Bin Hanzal, Member of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah and Head of the Department of Islamic Affairs.

These designs balanced aesthetic appeal with practicality, incorporating comprehensive facilities to cater to the needs of worshippers during congregational and Tarawih prayers.
