Digital literacy is now a fundamental requirement — not only for businesses, but also for drivers. Users should understand basic concepts such as data privacy, secure mobile usage, device updates, and responsible sharing of location information.
This was stated by Kashif Ali, CEO Najoom Al Thuraya Security Control Services, a UAE-based security firm established in 2019 engaged in redefining the standards of integrated security and smart city solutions across the Emirates.
His overall achievements in the field of security, efficiency, and urban intelligence are positioning the UAE as a global model for safe, connected, and future ready cities.
Talking to Gulf Today he said, “For fleet operators, this extends to interpreting telematics dashboards, understanding driver reports, and acting on safety insights. Even simple awareness—like recognising alerts, following digital policies, and maintaining secure credentials—can significantly improve outcomes.”
Highlighting Telematics, he said “Telematics – the integrated use of telecommunications and informatics (information technology) – has become a powerful tool for transforming road safety in the UAE.
“By capturing real-time vehicle data — such as speed, harsh braking, rapid acceleration, and route patterns — we help fleet operators and authorities gain deep visibility into driving behaviour.
“This allows proactive intervention: unsafe driving habits can be corrected through alerts, training, and performance scoring. Predictive maintenance reduces breakdown-related incidents, while geo-fencing and route optimisation improve operational control,” he added. Regarding his journey, Kashif Ali said, “Over the past few years, we have grown from a local vehicle tracking provider into a regional smart mobility partner, delivering GPS tracking, driver behaviour analytics, fleet optimisation, and compliance solutions to businesses and government entities.
“Our platforms help organisations monitor vehicles in real time, improve driving discipline, reduce operational risks, and enhance road safety outcomes. Today, our work supports thousands of vehicles across the UAE and neighbouring markets, enabling data-driven transportation while contributing directly to national safety and smart city objectives,” he added. “The UAE has launched several Smart City and Safe City initiatives such as SecurePath Dubai, SecurePath Sharjah, and ITC Asateel Abu Dhabi. Our company is actively aligned with major UAE government initiatives focused on road safety and smart transportation.”
