Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority (ECA) warned parents against opening vehicle windows while children are inside, as many children may want to stick their bodies out of the windows, posing a great danger to their safety.
ECA stresses the necessity of always ensuring that children are not left alone, that the appropriate car safety seat is installed based on the child's needs, and that seat belts are used.
It also emphasised the importance of driving safely and responsibly, avoiding leaving children unsupervised inside the car, and the importance of teaching them how to maintain their safety on the school bus by adhering to sitting in designated seats, fastening seat belts, and not moving around inside the bus.
“Car safety seats designed for infants and young children are key tools for keeping children safe in vehicles, as they reduce the risks of serious injuries and fatalities by 50% to 75%”, ECA explained, clarifying that these seats contribute to protecting the child while inside the vehicle.
