Imams and preachers have been urged to consider the conditions of worshippers and the importance of moderation and brevity in Taraweeh prayers, according to Dr Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments and Zakat (GAIAE).
During the GAIAE’s 2026 media briefing, Habtoor appealed to visitors of mosques to be aware of the importance of preserving the sanctity of mosques, as they are built for the remembrance of Allah, fostering harmony and tolerance, and establishing tranquility.
He emphasised the necessity of adhering to parking regulations, avoiding blocking roads in front of mosque entrances, and ensuring worshippers give other motorists their due.
He also stressed the importance of observing health aspects and avoiding praying in the mosque when ill, to prevent causing harm to others.
