Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director General of the Sharjah City Municipality, indicated that fees on public parking in Ramadan will be calculated from 8:00am until 12am (midnight) in all areas of Sharjah city, emphasising that inspection teams from the Public Parking Department will intensify their field rounds to ensure public compliance with fee payment and to prevent illegal use of parking spaces. This contributes to enhanced discipline and smooth traffic flow in various areas.
Al Tunaiji also clarified that parking spaces around mosques will be free for one hour from the time of Azan (call to pray), to facilitate prayers and enable worshippers to perform prayers with ease and peace of mind, noting at the same time that smart parking lots are subject to their own special system and the approved fee timing during the Holy Month of Ramadan does not apply to them.
