Employees of government entities in Dubai will start working in the Holy Month of Ramadan from Monday to Thursday, from 9:00am to 2:30pm, and on Friday, from 9:00am to 12:00pm, according to the Human Resources Department of the Government of Dubai (DGHR).
This, DGHR added, will allow them to spend more time with their families and participate in the Ramadan and social atmosphere, coinciding with the Year of the Family.
The decision also allows government entities to implement a flexible morning work system, allowing employees to start work between 7:00am and 10:00am, while completing the official working hours.
In addition, it allows the implementation of a remote work system for employees whose job nature permits it, for up to two days a week per employee. This reportedly contributes to supporting family stability and enhancing social cohesion during the Holy Month.
These measures reflect the Dubai government's approach to adopting flexible work policies which consider the needs of employees and their families, and support their psychological and social well-being, positively impacts productivity, job satisfaction, and the sustainability of institutional performance, DGHR indicated.
DGHR also affirmed the necessity for government entities to determine the working hours for employees working in shifts or whose jobs are related to public service or the management of public service facilities, in a manner which suits their operational requirements and ensures the continuity of service delivery with high efficiency.
