Abu Dhabi court orders father, son to pay Dhs5,000 for assaulting woman

Abu Dhabi Family, Civil and Administrative Cases Court obligated a father and his son to pay Dhs5,000 to a woman they assaulted and to settle the incurred charges, expenses and lawyer’s fees.

Earlier, a woman filed a lawsuit against a father and his son on the grounds that they had beaten her.

A criminal case was filed against the defendants in which they were convicted and she demanded that they be obligated to pay her Dhs51,000 as compensation.

The plaintiff had previously filed a complaint with the competent authorities against the father and his son and the case was referred to criminal trial on charges of assaulting the victim.

A ruling was issued against the defendant by Abu Dhabi Family Prosecution.

"It was established in the criminal rulings that the father and his son assaulted the woman and the court hereby believes that a Dhs5,000 compensation for all the moral and psychological harms that the plaintiff had befallen would be sufficient," said the ruling.
