In a continued effort to improve traffic safety and minimize accidents on the major roads, the Joint Committee for Traffic Safety in Abu Dhabi implemented reduced speed limits on three major roads starting Tuesday, following earlier announcements. These updates are part of a broader plan to enhance road safety and protect users by lowering speed limits on key routes in the city.
The decision covered three specific locations in Abu Dhabi with updated speed limits as follows: The first is the Abu Dhabi-Al Ain Road (E22), spanning from Al Nahda Interchange to Bani Yas Interchange in both directions, where the speed limit was lowered from 160 km/h to 140 km/h. The second location extends from Bani Yas Interchange to just before the bridge complex, also in both directions, with the speed limit reduced from 140 km/h to 120 km/h. The third location is Al Rawda Road (E30) in both directions, where the speed limit was decreased from 120 km/h to 100 km/h.
