UAE, other Islamic nations condemn repeated Israeli violations in Gaza

The foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Turkey have expressed strong condemnation of Israel's recurrent breaches of the Gaza ceasefire, which have led to the death and injury of over a thousand Palestinians.

They emphasised that such actions represent a serious escalation likely to heighten tensions and obstruct efforts aimed at fostering calm and stability. This comes at a time when regional and international initiatives are concentrated on moving forward with the second phase of the peace plan introduced by US President Donald Trump and on implementing UN Security Council Resolution 2803.

They also stressed that the recurring nature of these violations poses a serious threat to the political process, potentially hindering ongoing efforts to create favorable conditions for progress toward enhanced stability in the Gaza Strip, addressing both security and humanitarian issues. They further asserted the necessity of unwavering commitment to ensuring the success of the second phase of the peace plan.

The ministers urged all parties to take full responsibility during this crucial period, exercise utmost restraint, uphold and sustain the ceasefire, avoid any actions that could jeopardize ongoing efforts, and work towards creating conducive conditions for progress in early recovery and reconstruction.

The ministers emphasized the importance of attaining a just, comprehensive, and enduring peace, grounded in the Palestinian people's inherent right to self-determination and the creation of their independent state, in line with international law, pertinent Security Council resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative.
