‘Running with purpose’ to be held on Feb.7

The upcoming community event will be a catalyst for residents especially the cancer survivors to convene and show their commitment for overall wellbeing.

The “Running With Purpose” event at Dubai Festival City on Feb.7 will witness thousands of the residents to showcase their support to the cause.

“The initiative is working towards achieving ‘The Most Nationalities Participating in a Cancer Awareness Run,’ reinforcing the UAE’s multicultural fabric,” said Dr Harmeek Singh, Founder and Chairman of Plan B Group, and the organiser of the event.

“Dubai Festival City will become a meeting ground for thousands of residents united by a shared purpose as the Cancer RunTM2026 is not just a run; it is a reflection of how community-led initiatives are increasingly shaping the UAE’s vision for wellbeing, inclusion, and quality of life,” he said.

He pointed that at a time when preventive health and active living are national priorities, initiatives that encourage participation across cultures and age groups play a vital role in building healthier societies.

Singh whose mother is a cancer survivor, shared: “This is personal for me. When my mother was diagnosed with cancer, early detection changed everything for our family. Cancer Run was born from that experience to remind people that awareness and early screening can truly save lives.”

He added, “Cancer awareness should become a social movement and an integral part of our life’s ecosystem. When people are informed and take early precautions, it can help prevent disease, save lives, and significantly reduce emotional, medical, and financial strain.”
