In a remarkable blend of family connection and scientific ambition, the University of Sharjah celebrated an extraordinary and deeply inspiring occasion as Mansour Ahmed Mansour and his daughter Aysha graduated side by side.
Their exceptional academic accomplishments were recognised last week by Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, during a ceremony that honored their dedication and achievement.
They shared with Al Khaleej that this shared academic journey has been both a divine blessing and a valuable opportunity to exchange support and motivation. Their primary drive to seek knowledge comes from the wise leadership’s recognition of the importance of investing in human potential.
They emphasised that education extends beyond earning degrees; it is about acquiring skills and knowledge that contribute to society and strengthen the nation. They also highlighted the pivotal role their families played in fostering an ideal study environment through continuous encouragement, creating a peaceful atmosphere, and providing moral support.
They underscored that learning has no age limit and urged every student to trust in God, take the first step without hesitation, and focus on meaningful learning rather than just obtaining certifications.
Mansour said, “I faced a challenge because of my long break from education for about twenty years, but I overcame that by preparing early and studying regularly, with great support from my work in the Dubai Police General Command, and I express my appreciation for the leadership and the support provided to me.”
Aysha expressed that words could barely capture the depth of her feelings. While every graduate reveled in the joy of their accomplishment, they were fortunate to experience a double blessing on this momentous occasion.
She described it as a rare and divine honour, seeing it as a sign of being entrusted with the noble responsibility of serving as ambassadors of science and knowledge and as proud representatives of the University of Sharjah.
This extraordinary day, she noted, would forever remain etched in their memories, symbolizing dedication and perseverance. With hope and determination, Aisha emphasised the aspiration to become beacons of knowledge and a source of positive impact, utilising their education to serve the nation and society while continuing their journey of giving with unwavering sincerity.
She shared that her greatest challenge was managing her studies alongside her role as an operations manager at Dubai International Airport, coupled with the limited availability of researchers in her area of expertise. Despite this, the university supported her with essential research tools, resources, and guidance from a distinguished academic staff.
In conclusion, gratitude was extended to the University of Sharjah and its leadership, His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, as well as Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah. Their unwavering support and dedication to fostering an exceptional learning environment were instrumental in achieving this significant milestone. They also reaffirmed their commitment to advancing knowledge in service to both the community and the nation.
