Abu Dhabi Police, in cooperation with the Monitoring and Control Centre, apprehended a reckless driver for live-streaming on social media while driving, highlighting the serious risks of distracted driving and reinforcing the importance of road safety.
Abu Dhabi Police reiterated their call for adherence to safe driving, stressing that the road is not a place for showing off or interacting with social media.
A video, shared by Abu Dhabi Police on X platform, showed the reckless motorist recording from behind the wheel while weaving between lanes and overtaking other vehicles at high speed in the emirate.
Authorities described the act as reckless, putting not only the drive’s life at risk but also the safety of other road users.
The Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate emphasised that this behivour constitutes a serious violation of traffic laws due to the combination of recklessness and distraction.
Authorities made it clear that such action will not be tolerated under any circumstances, and that roads are intended for safe and responsible driving, not for social media interaction or risky displays.
Abu Dhabi Police urged all drivers to remain focused, follow traffic regulations, and avoid using mobile phones or social media platform while driving. They highlighted that road safety is a share responsibility and that even brief distractions can result in accidents or injuries.
