School administrations in Dubai have informed students and their parents that the Ministry of Education (MoE) has withheld first-semester certificates and results from students whose unofficial absences exceeded 15 days during the first semester.
The administrations affirmed that this measure is part of the implementation of approved school behaviour and discipline regulations, which stipulate taking educational and administrative actions against students who do not adhere to school attendance, considering regular attendance a fundamental pillar of the educational process and academic achievement evaluation.
According to the procedural guide for attendance and absence management, official documents such as medical reports or excuses approved by competent authorities must be submitted within a specified period for absence to be approved.
If this is not done, the absence is recorded as unjustified, and the stipulated procedures are applied.
The administrations urged parents to continuously monitor absence rates and to communicate directly in case of emergency circumstances that may affect students' attendance, to avoid measures which could affect their academic results and educational future.
