The Abu Dhabi Police have launched an Environmental Police Patrol in the Al Dhafra region, overseen by the Environmental Police Department within the Special Patrols Directorate of the Criminal Security Sector.
This initiative is part of the department’s efforts to enhance the protection of the environment and wildlife in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
It is a significant step that demonstrates the department’s commitment to supporting environmental sustainability and strengthening efforts to protect the terrestrial environment and preserve natural resources.
This initiative aligns with the wise leadership’s vision of establishing the concepts of sustainability and quality of life. Abu Dhabi Police affirm that the launch of the environmental patrol is part of their ongoing efforts to develop the specialised police work system and integrate roles with strategic partners.
This will help them achieve the highest levels of readiness and enable them to respond quickly to environmental reports and violations. It will also contribute to enhancing environmental security and preserving the natural heritage for future generations.
This initiative forms part of the Abu Dhabi Police’s strategy to support environmental sustainability, strengthen community partnerships and raise awareness of the importance of environmental protection. It is in line with the Emirate of Abu Dhabi’s vision to maintain a safe and sustainable environment and achieve balanced development.
Recently, Al Dhafra Municipality called on members of the society and visitors to public places to abide by the regulations and instructions related to camping and holding events in public places, noting that fines for committing this type of violations are doubled if repeated in line with the regulations and laws for preserving public appearance.
A fine of Dhs10,000 for the first time would be imposed for holding, managing or promoting an event or camping in public places without prior authorisation from the relevant municipality, Dhs15,000 for the second time and Dhs20,000 for the third time, it added.
