The UAE government’s Cyber Security Council reported that cyber threats are increasing significantly worldwide, driven by automation and artificial intelligence, stressing the importance of keeping abreast of the latest information and enhancing cyber awareness to reduce risks and protect digital life.
The council explained via its official social media account that cybercrimes were remarkably increasing with a cyber-attack occurring every 39 seconds, an indicator that reflected the accelerating pace of these attacks worldwide.
Estimates predict that the cost of cybercrimes globally will reach approximately $11.9 trillion in 2026 and may possibly touch $19.7 trillion by 2030, the council said.
Cybercrimes are evolving rapidly, driven by more sophisticated and intelligent attacks, the council added, calling for enhanced digital awareness as a key means of protection and stressing the importance of remaining vigilant and protected in cyberspace.
