The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has completed the first phase of several road development projects in the Al Hamriya area, totalling 10 km in length.
These projects form part of the SRTA’s ongoing development initiatives, which are aimed at enhancing infrastructure efficiency and improving the vital road network across the emirate.
This will contribute to a better quality of life and support comprehensive development plans.
The projects respond to the demands of urban and population growth in Al Hamriya.
The SRTA is committed to developing infrastructure according to the highest standards and best practices to ensure a comprehensive, safe road network that facilitates smooth traffic flow, improves connectivity between residential and service areas, and optimises traffic movement.
The project was executed according to precise timelines. A comprehensive development package was implemented in the Al Hamriya East area, including the construction of a new internal road network to serve residential neighbourhoods and service areas. This has made it easier for residents and users to move around and enhanced traffic safety.
Projects in Al Hamriya East included constructing 7.3 km of new internal roads and implementing modern entrances and exits to connect the area to the main road. These improvements have contributed to better traffic connectivity, more efficient daily traffic flow and reduced travel time within the area.
In Al Hamriya West area, the SRTA completed a 3-kilometre road paving project as part of a comprehensive plan to develop infrastructure and improve services for residents, with consideration given to the area’s future expansion.
Implemented in accordance with all traffic safety requirements and the highest technical and engineering standards, these projects contribute to smoother traffic flow and improved connectivity between the two areas. This supports the Emirate of Sharjah’s comprehensive development plans and reflects the Authority’s commitment to providing a safe, advanced and sustainable road network.
The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority is continuing to implement its infrastructure development projects in various cities and regions of the emirate. These projects are part of a comprehensive strategic vision aimed at developing an integrated road network that can keep pace with the region’s population and urban growth, and enhance mobility services. This will help to meet the community’s aspirations and reflect Sharjah’s status as a city that incubates and attracts vital projects and social housing.
