His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, unveiled a project to build hotel apartments opposite Al Jubail Market in Kalba, equipped with family rooms, car parks and rooms for drivers, to suit families of tourists.
Sheikh Sultan confirmed that development is in full swing, promising the people of Kalba, known as the ‘Pearl of the East,’ a real pearl that they can be proud of and which will shine brightly in two or three years after the completion of all development projects.
Sheikh Sultan said in a telephone interview on the ‘Direct Line’ programme, broadcast on Sharjah Radio and Television with media personality Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director General of the Sharjah Radio and Television Authority: "The project provides tourists and their families with an apartment, a parking space and a room for the driver, which is a service to the country because families do not prefer large, expensive hotels."
"We are working to serve the country and its people, and property owners should not worry, as we cannot expropriate property unless it is for the public benefit. The public benefit means schools, mosques and hospitals. We cannot force people, but we invite them to join us. We are working to develop all parts of the country, and we have developed a lot in the city of Kalba, and within two or three years we will complete the development of the entire city," he said.
Sheikh Sultan added: “As for the Al Tareef area, the area has been surveyed and is ready for development. We are now working on developing all the houses, and work is underway throughout the area to develop the sewage network and roads. I am directly monitoring the work there.”
Sheikh Sultan concluded by saying, ‘We say to the people of Kalba that we will make your city a real gem that shines brightly and that you can be proud of, and we are on the right track.”
