Colonel Ali Obaid Al Badawi, the director of the Hatta police station, honoured Mohammed Khan, a Dubai Municipality employee, in recognition of his honesty.
Khan found a tourist’s bag containing important documents and handed it in at the station.
The station returned the tourist’s bag, containing his passport and other documents, to him.
He was immensely grateful for the swift recovery.
He also praised the UAE community for its high level of security. Colonel Al Badawi praised Khan’s honesty, stemming from his ethical and humanitarian values, as well as his sense of social responsibility.
He emphasised that this recognition reflects an ongoing commitment to celebrating virtuous qualities, as well as acknowledging the vital role that community service plays in enhancing the country’s reputation with regard to security, safety and integrity.
Recently, the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police honoured two young men for preparing an awareness video on AI-operated technical traffic control systems (radars) and their detected violations and posting it on social media in a bid to enhancing road safety.
Brigadier Essam Ibrahim Al Awar, Acting Deputy Director of General Department of Traffic, honoured the two young men, Zayed Al Raisi and Abdul Rahman Al Wadi, in the presence of Brigadier Eng. Mohammed Ali Karam, Director of the Traffic Technology Department, and Colonel Mohammed Abdullah Al Qaidi, Director of Bur Dubai Patrols Department,.
Earlier, the two young men prepared the awareness video with the aim of familiarizing the public with the new violations that are now being detected by the radars. The video recorded over 726,000 views.
Praising the efforts of the two young men in preparing the awareness video, Al Awar stressed that the honouring came as part of Dubai Police’s ongoing keenness to enhance communication with all segments of society and thank them for their efforts.
