The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on Saturday notified commercial airlines to avoid Caribbean airspace, citing a "potentially hazardous situation" amid US military operations to capture Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
The notice said the closure was issued due to "safety-of-flight risks associated with ongoing military activity."
Meanwhile, Delta canceled Caribbean flights and closely monitoring the ongoing situation in the region.
Earlier, the FAA bans US commercial flights in Venezuela airspace over "ongoing military activity" ahead of explosions in Caracas.
