Education ministry announces school hours on Fridays in UAE

The UAE Ministry of Education (MoE) declared updates to school hours on Fridays in public schools, in line with the decision issued regarding the adjustment of Friday prayer times, to take effect from Friday, Jan.9, 2026.
The school day will end at 11.30am, according to the Ministry of Education.
As announced by the General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, in coordination with the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai, the time for the Friday prayers will change from 1:15pm to 12:45pm, effective Jan.2, 2026, Abdulrahman Saeed report said.
