The UAE ranked the top Arab country and the fourth in the world, for road quality for 2025, according to an international ranking published by the Daily Jang newspaper.
This puts the UAE in the top group of countries that have developed large, safe and advanced road networks. These achievements are based on high engineering standards, regular maintenance, and long-term planning for infrastructure.
The UAE performs well because it always invests in transport infrastructure, and uses smart systems to make roads safer, traffic better and it is easier to move around.
Asia continues to dominate global road quality rankings, with Singapore in first place thanks to its well-maintained roads, intelligent traffic management systems, and strict enforcement of traffic laws, despite its limited size.
Hong Kong came second, thanks to its modern road network, carefully designed tunnels and bridges, and efficient traffic solutions suited to urban environments where there are a lot of people.
Japan came third because its roads are well-built, safe and precise. It also has advanced systems to collect tolls, is prepared for disasters and has technology to manage traffic.
