The Human Resources Law No. 2 issued by His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, for 2025 focused on rewards system and promotion of talented citizens, remote work, part-time work, hybrid work.
It also focused on increasing the child allowance to Dhs600 for citizens, social allowance and housing allowance for each national employee.
The Human Resources Department – Government of Fujairah on Thursday organised an introductory seminar on the new law, which includes 80 articles, at Al Bahar Hotel in Fujairah. The seminar targeted directors and deputy directors of government entities, departmental directors and heads of sections in addition to those concerned in government institutions and those responsible for enforcing the law.
The new law, which balanced all working life requirements, focused on advanced technology, creativity, innovation, excellence, artificial intelligence, corporate culture, professional ethics and the employment of people of determination, said Noura Al Hindasi, Director of Studies and Corporate Communication Department at the Human Resources Department.
The law included a leave to accompany a spouse, participation in events, leave for self-employment, 10-day spousal leave that an employee can take during the year, she added.
It also included bereavement leave, iddah leave for a Muslim female employee of 4 months and 10 days, national service leave, and 5-day paternity leave, while the maternity leave became 90 days, she said, adding that the law allowed a woman 90- day unpaid child custody.
The law changed the salary schedule from grades to levels, and issued the explanatory executive regulations, the job performance system, and the rights and duties of government employees.
