Intoxicated driver arrested for jumping red light in Dubai

The Dubai Traffic Prosecution referred an Asian driver to court for driving under the influence of alcohol, jumping a red light and colliding with another vehicle, causing injuries to two other people.

The prosecution charged him with abusing alcoholic beverages, driving under the influence, causing harms to others and damaging property belonging to others as a result of jumping a red light. It ordered the accused to be remanded into custody pending interrogation and to be severely punished.

Earlier the Dubai Police arrested the driver while driving under the influence of alcohol.

Counselor Salah Bu Farousha Al Falasi, Senior Advocate General and Head of Traffic Prosecution, stressed the necessity for to all drivers to take the utmost care and caution while driving vehicles on the roads and to abide by all legal and safe driving requirements to preserve the safety of all road users and public and private property.
