The Ras Al Khaimah Police have announced that the speed limit on Sheikh Saqr Bin Mohammed Street, which extends from the Applied Technology Schools to the Al Kharran Roundabout, will be reduced from 100 kmph to 80 kmph, meaning that the radar speed limit will be 101 from the beginning of next January.
Brigadier Ahmed Al Summ Al Naqbi, Director General of Central Operations at Ras Al Khaimah Police, explained that the decision aligns with the Ministry of Interior's goals, which include making roads safer, enhancing transportation safety, and reducing traffic accidents. He further noted that the vital street passes through a populated residential and commercial area and is frequently used by large numbers of cars as it links Ras Al Khaimah with other emirates in the country.
Al Naqbi called on drivers to comply with the new speed limits to help achieve the desired goals and avoid fines for violations. He stressed that the Ras Al Khaimah Police prioritise the safety of drivers and road users in all their decisions.
