Ras Al Khaimah Police carry out restoration work at rain-hit sites

Top officials inspect a number of vital areas and dams in Ras Al Khaimah.

Brigadier General Jamal Ahmed Al Tayr, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, accompanied by Ali Rashid Al Niyadi, Director General of the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, inspected a number of vital areas and dams in the emirate.
This was in response to the rainwater that the country had witnessed over the past two days. The aim was to assess the progress of work to rehabilitate the areas and dams, and to ensure their performance was efficient and safe.
Brigadier General Jamal Al Tayr directed that maintenance be carried out on a number of sites to improve their efficiency, ensuring the safety of community members and property, reducing the potential damage that rainwater could cause in the future, and finding practical, sustainable solutions to ensure the infrastructure's efficiency in emergency conditions.

He explained that, in cooperation with strategic partners, work is underway to prepare detailed and comprehensive studies of the various affected sites. These studies aim to enhance the sites' resistance to floods and rain, prepare them for any future developments and contribute to containing similar weather conditions that may occur in the future.
He further noted that the local emergency and crisis team is working diligently to mitigate the damage caused by rainwater during the winter season. They are providing support and assistance to the relevant authorities in order to enhance and strengthen the infrastructure system.
At the end of the tour, Al Tayr stressed the importance of integration between federal and local entities and of collaborative future planning to prevent or reduce the impact of rainwater. This will ensure the efficiency of infrastructure and dams and their ability to handle any future emergencies.
He expressed his gratitude to all the partners who provided support during the recent adverse weather conditions, including local and federal teams, the private sector, and community members. Their contributions helped ensure a rapid recovery.
