In a heartwarming display of gratitude and respect, the students of District Council Public High School, Upper Dir, Pakistan, now (DPS) surprised their beloved teacher, Sir Irshad Shaheen, by gifting him a luxury car.
The remarkable gesture has touched hearts across the district and stands as a powerful reminder of the deep bond that can exist between teachers and their students.
Irshad Shaheen is widely known in Upper Dir for his dedication to education, discipline, and moral values. For over four decades, he has served not only as a teacher but also as a mentor, guide, and role model for countless students. His commitment to shaping young minds, often going beyond his official duties, earned him immense respect among students, parents, and colleagues alike.
The idea of gifting a car was initiated by a former student Arshad Saleem supported by the core committee members including ex-students such as Sadiqullah, Atta-ur Rahman, Asad Iqbal, Tariq Babar, Waqar Azeem and many more, who wanted to express their appreciation in a meaningful way. Many of them shared that Sir Irshad Shaheen had supported them during difficult times, encouraged them to pursue education despite challenges, and consistently motivated them to believe in themselves. For students coming from modest backgrounds, his guidance played a crucial role in changing the direction of their lives.

The presentation ceremony was held on the school premises and was attended by ex-students and community members. When the car was unveiled, emotions ran high.
Irshad Shaheen, visibly moved, struggled to find words as students expressed their love and respect through speeches and prayers. He described the gift not as a material possession, but as a symbol of trust, affection, and the success of his teaching efforts.
In his address, Irshad Shaheen emphasized that the real reward for a teacher is the success and character of their students. He encouraged students to continue striving for knowledge, honesty, and service to society. He also reminded them that education is the most powerful tool for personal and social change, especially in areas like Upper Dir where opportunities can be limited.
The gesture has been widely praised by the local community and education circles. Many see it as an inspiring example of how teachers can leave a lifelong impact when they teach with sincerity and compassion. It also highlights the importance of respecting educators who dedicate their lives to nurturing future generations.
This extraordinary act by the students of District Council Public High School now (DPS) sends a strong message: when teachers invest in their students with honesty and dedication, the respect and love they receive in return can be priceless. The gift of a car to Irshad Shaheen is not just a news story—it is a celebration of the noble profession of teaching and the enduring power of gratitude.
