Ibrahim Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Astronomy Society, a member of the Arab Union for Space Sciences and Astronomy, revealed that the first day of Ramadan will be astronomically on Feb.19, 2026 (Thursday,), and the first day of Shawwal and Eid Al Fitr will be March 20, 2026 (Friday).
Al Jarwan explained that the crescent of Ramadan 1447 will be born on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026 at 16:01 UAE time, and will be seen only one minute after sunset and then its age with sunset will be about 2:12 hours only, so it is expected that it will not be seen, but it will be seen after sunset on Wednesday, Feb.18, 2026.
Al Jarwan pointed out that the length of fasting in the capital Abu Dhabi (from dawn to sunset) at the beginning of the Holy Month will be 12 hours and 46 minutes, where the length of the day from sunrise to sunset will be 11 hours and 32 minutes, while the length of fasting at the end of the Holy Month will be 13 hours and 25 minutes, and the length of the day will be 12 hours and 12 minutes.
Al Jarwan said that according to the normal rates of temperatures at the beginning of next Ramadan, the maximum will reach 28°C, while the minimum will be 16°C, with the activity of the northern winds, but at the end of the month, it will range between 32°C for the maximum, and 19°C for the minimum, and the time of spring weather disturbances and the activity of the western winds begins.
