Abu Dhabi Family, Civil and Administrative Cases Court obligated a man to pay a woman Dhs115,000 from whom he borrowed Dhs245,000 but paid back only Dhs130,000.
Earlier, the man borrowed Dhs245,000 from a woman as evidenced by a signed acknowledgment of debt.
He, however, repaid Dhs130,000 but failed to return the remaining Dhs115,000, which prompted the woman to file a lawsuit demanding that he pay her Dhs120,000 plus a 5 per cent annual interest from the due date until full payment and Dhs20,000 in compensation for the material and moral harms she had befallen.
The case file indicated that the defendant appeared before the court and did not provide any evidence to refute the validity of his debt. Based on the foregoing, the court found the debt to be valid and ordered the defendant to pay the plaintiff Dhs115,000 plus the incurred fees and expenses.
