Jan.1 declared New Year holiday for public and private sectors

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has announced that Thursday, 1st January 2026, will be an official paid holiday for all private-sector employees in the UAE on the occasion of the New Year.

The announcement follows a circular issued by MoHRE in implementation of the Cabinet decision regarding the approved official holidays for the public and private sectors.

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources has announced the New Year holiday for federal government employees in 2026.

The holiday will be on Thursday, Jan.1, 2026. Friday Jan.2, 2026, will be a “remote working” day for federal government employees, unless their job duties require otherwise.

On this occasion, the Authority extended congratulations and best wishes to the leadership, government, and people of the UAE, as well as to all residents, praying for continued health and well-being.
