The Ras Al Khaimah Police General Command has confirmed that there has been a significant decrease in the number of the pedestrian accidents during the first half of this year (2025), with a 15% reduction compared to 2024. This reflects the success of plans to enhance traffic safety and protect lives, as well as public and private property.
The Ras Al Khaimah Police explained that this achievement is linked to the use of 'smart tracking' systems to monitor vehicles and detect high-risk violations, resulting in a significant reduction in deaths and injuries.
Brigadier Ahmed Al Summ Al Naqbi, Director General of Central Operations at Ras Al Khaimah Police, said, “This achievement is a testament to the efforts of the leadership in implementing proactive measures, enhancing smart traffic control, running traffic awareness campaigns and enforcing traffic regulations effectively. These efforts have contributed to creating a safe traffic environment that reflects the concept of quality of life and security in the emirate.”
He emphasised the keenness of the Ras Al Khaimah Traffic Police to promote traffic awareness among road users and stress the importance of complying with traffic rules by reminding drivers and road users of the importance of following traffic guidelines, crossing safely at designated pedestrian areas, and using pedestrian crossings, crosswalks and bridges to avoid dangerous accidents and protect lives and property.
