Scores of Pakistani expats and Pakistan Overseas Community Global (POCG) members have attended the Eid Al Etihad Festival to celebrate the 54th UAE National Day in Ajman.
The festival was organised by the POCG, which brought together families, professionals, business representatives, and community leaders from across the seven emirates.
Dignitaries from the Pakistan Consulate Dubai and Northern Emirates were also in attendance, adding to the significance of the celebration for the overseas Pakistani community.
The event was also attended by Chief Guest Shaikh Mohamed Jamal Abdulaziz Al Qasimi, along with Guests of Honor Mian Tariq Javed, Chairman POCG, Syed Qamar Raza, Chairman Overseas Pakistanis Foundation, and Faisal Abdullah Jumah Al Tunaiji.
Naveed Ahmed, President POCG UAE said that, “the festival featured cultural performances, traditional Ayyala dance, Pakistani folk presentations, a dedicated family zone, and a cultural showcase by students of Pakistani Islamic Private School, Al Ain.”
“We are thrilled to bring a large number of community members to celebrate the UAE National Day with passion,” he added.
Ahmed also expressed gratitude to UAE leadership, remarking, “Pakistanis consider the UAE their second home. Celebrating its national achievements with sincerity and full enthusiasm reflects our appreciation for a nation that has offered safety, opportunity, and a sense of belonging,” he said. A ceremonial cricket tournament added competitive spirit to the festivities, with teams representing POCG, Pakistan Association Dubai, Pakistani Media, and Social Media Influencers.
The Influencers team, captained by Fahad Asad, secured the tournament title. POCG extended thanks to sponsors, supporters, and community partners for their role in making the event successful, reaffirming its commitment to cultural harmony and continued cooperation between the people of Pakistan and the UAE.
Community members were thrilled with the Raffle draw as 10 persons won Umrah tickets and other valuable prizes.
Food stalls offered traditional cuisine representing different parts of Pakistan which was also a major attraction at the day-long festival.
