The Search and Rescue Department of Ras Al Khaimah Police carried out 3 missions in mountainous areas to provide assistance to three people who had different accidents while they were in the mountainous heights, while the Air Wing Department dealt with various air missions during the same period.
The General Command of RAK Police confirmed that the search and rescue departments and the air wing have increased their efforts in the mountainous areas during the 54th Union Day holiday, with the aim of preserving the safety of the visitors of the highlands and protecting their lives from the dangers they may be exposed to as a result of their non-compliance with the guidelines and advice.
The Police also stressed the importance of full cooperation by visitors to the mountainous areas in the emirate, which at this time of the year is witnessing an increasing demand from practitioners and lovers of sports and mountain trips, by carrying sufficient quantities of food and water, ensuring that their mobile phones are charged, informing in advance about the areas they wish to go to, while staying away from the rugged areas, not going to such areas under the cover of darkness, and wearing clothes and shoes suitable for the nature of the mountainous areas.
The Police called on members of the community, including citizens, residents and visitors, to cooperate fully with the police efforts, with the aim of raising the level of awareness and preventive culture, which is the cornerstone in maintaining their safety and avoiding the imminent dangers.
