Sharjah Police, represented by the Department of Prevention and Community Protection, managed to reunite a mother and her son after a separation of more than 12 years due to complicated family disputes that led to a complete breakdown in communication between them.
The case dated back to the mother’s recent arrival in the country after many years of suffering that began since the birth of her child. She lived in troubled family circumstances that prevented her from seeing him.
The difficulties worsened after her separation from her husband and the loss of her source of income, which forced her to leave the country in 2013. A long period of suffering began to reach her son and learn about his living, health and educational situation.
Finally, she managed to come to the country and search again for her son. She headed to Sharjah Police looking for any information that might help her restore hope.
Out of its humanitarian duty, the Department of Prevention and Community Protection initiated precise and rapid search operations through the relevant systems and authorities, thanks to a dedicated team of social workers.
Following intensive efforts, the team managed to reach the young man in a record time and began to prepare for the long-awaited meeting in a moving scene that embodied the deep humanitarian role played by Sharjah Police in protecting families and ensuring child’s rights.
Brigadier Ahmed Al Marri, Director of the Department of Prevention and Community Protection, affirmed that this humanitarian achievement reflected Sharjah Police’s approach derived from the visions of the wise leadership in promoting family stability and providing social support to all members of the society.
Praising the efforts of the dedicated teams and their key role in addressing sensitive issues that touch upon the human dimension of the family, Al Marri stated that the ability to end human suffering and rebuild hope is the greatest thing that an institution working to serve the community can offer.
He stressed Sharjah Police’s commitment to continuing its efforts to promote the values of compassion and social cohesion.
