VIDEO: Abu Dhabi Police warn against distracted driving, violator faces Dhs800 fine, 4 black points

As part of the “Your Comment” initiative, Abu Dhabi Police, in co-operation with the Monitoring and Control Centre, posted a video of  multi-car crash caused by distraction from the road and lack of attention during a sudden stop of traffic.

According to Abu Dhabi Police, the violation for distracted driving from the road in any way would be slapped with a fine of Dhs800 plus four black points.

They warned drivers of the dangers of distraction due to using the phone to browse the internet and social media sites, make calls, take photos and other behaviours that might lead to serious traffic accidents.

The police urged drivers not to be distracted from the road and to focus fully while driving to avoid surprises on the road, which enhances attention and enables timely and safe action, explaining that inattention in this particular situation can cause traffic accidents that often lead to fatalities and serious injuries.
