At 12:00am., Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi welcomed two new babies, coinciding with the start of the United Arab Emirates' celebrations of its 54th National Day, in a moment that held special significance for both the families and the hospital. The baby girl, Makkah, was born to Algerian parents, Zouhair Attar and Lamia Marmat, weighing 3.110 kg, to be the fourth child in the family.
The parents expressed their happiness on this occasion, emphasising that her birth on this national day represents a double blessing, and expressing their gratitude to the medical team for their continuous care during the pregnancy and delivery.
Dr. Hala Al Sayed, an obstetrician and gynecologist at Burjeel Hospital, said that the birth of a baby girl on a national holiday has special significance, confirming that both mother and baby are in good health.
At the same time, the hospital also witnessed the birth of a baby boy named Omar to his Pakistani parents Hamood Al Rahman and Andalib Salim, weighing 3.560 kg. The family confirmed that the birth of their child on Union Day will remain an unforgettable memory for them, and they thanked the medical staff for their support and excellent care.
Dr Silaja Fobo, Head of Department and Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist at Burjeel Hospital, explained that the birth of two babies on a national occasion symbolises new beginnings, noting that such moments add special value to the festive atmosphere within the hospital.
The hospital witnessed a festive atmosphere on this occasion, with staff exchanging congratulations and distributing sweets to celebrate the new arrivals, in a scene that combined the joy of families with the spirit of the national occasion.
