The Abu Dhabi Court for Family and Civil and Administrative Cases has obliged a man to return an amount of Dhs900, and also fined him Dhs5,000 in favour of another, who saw an advertisement on Instagram about the availability of a concert ticket.
He then contacted the suspect via WhatsApp, and they agreed to provide two tickets and then paid for them via bank transfer.
Afterwards, it turned out that the tickets were fake and that he had been defrauded. In detail, a man filed a lawsuit against another, requesting that he be obliged to pay him Dhs900, which he had taken, in addition to Dhs9,100 as compensation for material and moral damages.
The plaintiff said that he saw an ad on Instagram for the sale of a concert ticket.
The victim then contacted the defendant via WhatsApp, and they agreed to provide two tickets.
He then transferred Dhs900 to his bank account.
Afterwards, it turned out that the tickets were fake upon his arrival at the concert, and it became clear that he had been defrauded, so he filed a criminal lawsuit against him, and the court ruled in absentia to fine him Dhs5,000.
The court clarified that, based on the previous criminal judgment, the defendant's error was established, and accordingly, he was obliged to return Dhs900, and Dhs5,000 as compensation for all material and moral damages he incurred.
