In an achievement that reinforces the Emirate of Sharjah’s lead in traffic safety indicators, Sharjah Police recorded a significant decline in the rate of traffic accident fatalities of 1.18 deaths per 100,000 people between January and end of October 2025, based on federal traffic co-ordination monthly reports.
“Achieving this result is a reflection of the great support that Sharjah Police receive from the wise leadership and the continuous and effective co-ordination with the Ministry of Interior,” said Brigadier Khalid Mohammed Al Kay, Director of Traffic and Patrols Department.
This outstanding result was also the fruit of implementing a comprehensive strategy based on such key themes as enhancing the field deployment of static and mobile patrols on all roads and expanding the network of radar systems and smart cameras to raise the level of traffic control, he said.
Other themes included implementing intensive awareness campaigns throughout the year in cooperation with schools, universities and partner entities, developing the rapid response system for accidents and improving co-ordination with the concerned authorities to ensure effective handling of reports, he added.
Sharjah Police reiterate its commitment to continuing to work according to the best modern practices in traffic management and enhancing road safety levels as this contributes to protecting lives and property and preserving the emirate’s gains in this key area.
